• Man Gets 20 Years In Villa Park Machine Gun Case (patch.com) — A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after Villa Park police linked him to a 2023 shooting investigation involving an illegally modified machine gun. Officers responding near Chatham Avenue and Plymouth Street recovered shell casings, later finding the suspect and multiple firearms at a Villa Park home, with prosecutors saying he must serve most of his sentence before parole. 
• Pretrial Fairness Act reform push (nctv17.org) — A recent homicide of a Villa Park woman is being cited by DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin as a key reason to amend Illinois’ Pretrial Fairness Act, part of the SAFE-T Act.
