• Man Set Fire To His Aunt And Uncle's House In Wheaton: Police (patch.com) — An alleged arson at a home on Woodlawn Street has a 40-year-old man facing felony aggravated arson charges after police say he poured gasoline on his aunt and uncle's Wheaton house and set it on fire. A quick-acting neighbor used a fire extinguisher to control the blaze, and the suspect later turned himself in at the Wheaton Police Department. He remains in DuPage County Jail awaiting an October court date.
   

• Huntley, Richmond-Burton volleyball teams remain undefeated with wins: Wednesday's Northwest Herald roundup (shawlocal.com) — Area volleyball fans may be interested that the Wheaton Classic at Wheaton Warrenville South featured Prairie Ridge splitting matches against Benet and IC Catholic Prep, with strong individual performances on defense and attack. The wider roundup also highlights undefeated runs and key wins for Huntley, Richmond-Burton, and several other McHenry and Kane County schools in volleyball, golf, and soccer action.
