All Winnetka Beaches Closed Due To Poor Air Aquality

The village said swimming areas at all beaches are temporarily closed while unhealthy air quality affects the region.

WINNETKA, IL — All beaches in Winnetka will be closed until further notice due to poor air quality, the Park District announced Thursday.

The closure is intended to protect the health and safety of staff and visitors, the village said.

Current air quality levels have reached a range considered unhealthy, particularly for children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and people with asthma, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions, according to the village. Outdoor activities, including swimming, sunbathing, and recreational sports, are not recommended until air quality improves.
