• Yorkville continues progress on IL Route 47 expansion; intended to ease rush-hour backups (shawlocal.com) — Yorkville officials have approved key underground utility work needed before major widening of Illinois Route 47, a multi-year project aimed at easing rush-hour backups through town. The $120-million-plus effort will expand Route 47 from Kennedy Road through Galena Road toward Sugar Grove, add pedestrian-friendly features, and temporarily increase congestion while construction reshapes one of Yorkville's busiest corridors.
