• Biggest Carmel Porchfest to date brings nationwide talent (youarecurrent.com) — Carmel residents can look forward to the biggest Carmel PorchFest yet on Sept. 20, with 70 bands playing on 23 porches across the Arts & Design District and plenty of food vendors. Organizers say the free, walkable festival has grown into a signature community day, drawing performers from around the country while giving neighbors a fun way to explore live music close to home.
   

• Kids Ink Books promotes lifelong reading with new Carmel location (wrtv.com) — Families in Carmel will soon get a new independent children's bookstore when Kids Ink Books opens a local location on Oct. 15 in partnership with Rock-A-Toy. The shop plans deeper ties with Carmel schools and will launch a new nonprofit to expand kids' access to books and encourage lifelong reading in both Carmel and Indianapolis.
   

• Westfield Stick & Hack adds electronic mini golf (youarecurrent.com) — A new Stick & Hack entertainment venue in nearby Westfield now offers Lucky Putt, an electronic mini-golf experience designed specifically to attract families and groups from Carmel and other Hamilton County towns. Owners plan more additions by early December, including golf simulators and a beer garden, positioning the spot as a close-by hangout for Carmel residents seeking indoor fun.
