• Timeless French Lick to host Smithsonian Exhibit as part of America 250 Celebration (duboiscountyherald.com) — A major Smithsonian traveling exhibit on American democracy is coming to the Timeless French Lick Visitors Center from May 16 through June 28, 2026, giving residents a rare national-caliber experience close to home. Through artifacts, photos, and interactive displays, “Voices & Votes” will connect big-picture history to the everyday civic life of communities like French Lick and Orange County. 
• Orange County America 250 essay winners (duboiscountyherald.com) — Orange County students, including those from Springs Valley in the French Lick area, were honored this week as winners of the America 250 Student Writing Contest celebrating “Small Town USA.” Sponsored in part by the French Lick Library, the contest drew over 70 entries, and the winning essays will be filmed in Paoli for use at upcoming county America 250 events.
