IU Northwest to host Men at the Margins Conference (iu.edu) — Indiana University Northwest in Gary is hosting the Men at the Margins Conference on March 18–19, 2027, focusing on challenges facing local boys and men. Residents, especially youth ages 13–18, can attend for free, while adults, community leaders, and service providers are encouraged to register, submit session proposals, or sponsor scholarships that help Northwest Indiana young people participate.

Testimony described beatings, threats with guns, a coerced overdose, and forced cleaning work, with federal officials saying the verdict sends a strong message about pursuing traffickers who prey on vulnerable women.
