1. City Office Relocations Improve Efficiency and Collaboration Across Goshen (in.gov) — Several Goshen city offices, including City Court, Probation, the Clerk’s Office and Fire Administration, are moving into the Historic Elkhart County Courthouse starting June 17. Other departments like Environmental Resilience and Parks and Recreation are also relocating within Goshen to improve collaboration, expand programming, and make better use of existing public buildings residents already visit.

New police chief sworn in for the city of Goshen (wndu.com) — Goshen has officially welcomed Andy Stephenson as its new police chief, sworn in Thursday evening at a public ceremony in the Goshen Theater. With more than 30 years of law enforcement experience, he succeeds retired Chief José Miller and has already been on the job since May 1, now formally introduced to the community he’ll serve.

Elkhart County planners to consider proposed Bristol data center project July 9 (wvpe.org) — A Goshen resident is urging Elkhart County leaders to slow or restrict a large proposed data center complex in nearby Bristol, citing worries about noise, water, energy use, and the environment. County planners will take up the Bristol Innovation Park proposal at their July 9 meeting, a key step that could determine whether the project keeps advancing.

4. Judge Sets Hearing Date in Goshen Unlicensed Daycare Case Involving 86 Children (wowo.com) — State officials are heading back to court June 18 over an alleged unlicensed daycare in Goshen where inspectors say they found 86 children, including many in a basement without a fire escape. The lawsuit seeks a permanent injunction to shut down the operation, and no criminal charges have been announced while the investigation continues.

Bourbon without power after storm passes through (abc57.com) — A major storm has knocked out power across northwest Indiana, including 1,747 NIPSCO customers in Goshen, one of the hardest-hit communities alongside Bourbon and several other towns. Utilities are still working to restore service, and residents are urged to check NIPSCO’s outage map for the latest on their neighborhood and estimated repair times.
