• La Porte County Sheriff's Office announces Deputy Jon Samuelson Benefit Fund (wimsradio.com) — La Porte County residents are being invited to support Deputy Jon Samuelson, who was critically wounded on duty May 22 and is now in intensive rehabilitation. The Sheriff’s Office has set up the Jon Samuelson Benefit Fund, with donations accepted at any Horizon Bank in Northwest Indiana or Southwest Michigan to help Jon and his wife Quinn manage recovery-related expenses. 
• Summer Fund Raising Campaign for Youth Group (hometownnewsnow.com) — Families in La Porte and across the county are being asked to support the Boys & Girls Club of La Porte County’s summer fundraising drive, which keeps after-school programs and camps free for local kids. Clubs operate at eight sites, including one in La Porte, and the first $5,000 in donations will be matched to double early gifts.
