• Man facing charges after unprovoked assault at Mitchell cafe (wbiw.com) — Mitchell residents should know that a local man has been charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct after an alleged unprovoked punch at the Railroad Cafe & Lounge on West Main Street. Police say surveillance video guided their investigation, a no-trespass order was issued, and a warrant led to his April 13 arrest, with the case now before the Lawrence County Prosecutor.
   

• Larry Rayhill, 79 – WLKM Radio 95.9 FM (wlkm.com) — Mitchell is remembering Larry Gene Rayhill, a 1964 Mitchell High School graduate who was born and raised here before building his life and career in Elkhart and, more recently, Sturgis. The 79-year-old retiree, known for his love of the outdoors, woodworking, and animals, has died, and his family will hold a private celebration of life later.
