Community Foundation of Wabash County receives $750,000 Community Support Grant through Lilly Endowment's GIFT IX Initiative (yournewslocal.com) — North Manchester’s Community Foundation of Wabash County, headquartered on East Main Street, has secured a $750,000 Lilly Endowment GIFT IX grant to strengthen local nonprofits. The funding will expand shared services, training, and grantmaking so organizations across Wabash County can better handle funding shifts while continuing childcare, arts, family support, and workforce programs that shape everyday life here.

2. Kate's Kart 18th Annual Ice Cream Social Fundraiser includes local businesses (yournewsjournal.com) — North Manchester residents can support hospitalized kids by grabbing a cone at Grand’s Ice Cream Shoppe during Kate’s Kart’s 18th Annual Ice Cream Social fundraiser on June 27. Volunteers will be at 36 shops across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, handing out goodie bags and books while raising money to keep free books flowing to children in local hospitals.

3. Wabash County Tobacco Free Coalition director retiring (yournewsjournal.com) — North Manchester is highlighted as a leader in Wabash County’s push for tobacco‑free public spaces as longtime Tobacco Free Coalition director Dan Gray prepares to retire. Gray reflects on two decades of educating youth, supporting people who want to quit, and advocating for healthier parks and policies. A public retirement celebration is planned June 30 in Wabash.

4. Presl places third at State Finals in high jump (yournewsjournal.com) — Manchester High junior high jumper Korbin Presl set a new school record at 6 feet, 10 inches while finishing third at the IHSAA Boys Track and Field State Finals. Seniors Carson Heath and Eli Metzger also placed in the top 15 in hurdle events, capping strong high school careers. Heath plans to continue competing at Grace College next year.
