• Authorities urge safety in teens squirt gun 'assassination' game (1010wcsi.com) — North Vernon police and Jennings County High School are asking families to keep a close eye on a teen water-gun “assassination” game so it stays clearly harmless and off school grounds and workplaces. They stress that toy guns must be obviously fake to avoid confusion with real weapons and say there have been no local problems so far, but encourage residents to contact law enforcement with any concerns. 
• ISP arrests 29 in bust of drug supply chain (madisoncourier.com) — A large multi-agency drug investigation has resulted in 29 arrests tied to an alleged methamphetamine and cocaine distribution network, including one person listed as being from North Vernon. Indiana State Police and several partner agencies say the long-running probe, centered on Jefferson County and nearby communities, targeted suspected suppliers and associates across Indiana, Kentucky, and beyond.
