• Crete Man Charged After Allegedly Assaulting Utility Worker, Running Across U.S. 41 and Climbing Barbed-Wire Fence (regionnewssource.org) — Schererville police say a 43-year-old Crete, Illinois man faces multiple misdemeanor charges after an alleged late-night assault on a utility worker near Raising Cane’s on Indianapolis Boulevard. Officers report he appeared highly intoxicated, fled across U.S. 41 into a fenced area, and was later found in nearby woods before being lodged in Lake County Jail.
