• South Bend Fire Department: Too early to determine if massive Stadium Flats fire is suspicious (wndu.com) — Investigators in South Bend are still working to determine what caused the massive fire that destroyed the under-construction Stadium Flats apartments near Four Winds Field, and say it's too early to know if anything is suspicious. Fire crews battled heavy flames after the blaze broke out just after midnight Tuesday, but no injuries were reported. A damaged crane must be safely removed before investigators can fully sift the rubble, a process that could take weeks.

• Mishawaka Marian girls soccer beats 2A No. 1 South Bend Saint Joseph (southbendtribune.com) — South Bend Saint Joseph's top-ranked girls soccer team fell 2-1 to rival Mishawaka Marian in a tightly contested Northern Indiana Conference match, ending a big "Holy War" week showdown. The game, a rematch of last year's dramatic sectional meeting, featured standout goals from Marian's Grace Hanyzewski and Kendall Bradley. Saint Joseph now looks to regroup for its upcoming home game against Valparaiso.
