Several other central Iowa programs also move up or debut, setting up intriguing early-season matchups for metro teams. 
• Norwalk renews efforts to bring Buc-ee's after Urbandale rejection (kcci.com) — Ankeny is among several Des Moines-area suburbs vying to land a massive Buc-ee's travel center after Urbandale's council rejected the project. Norwalk officials are aggressively pitching a site along I-35, but Ankeny, Bondurant, and West Des Moines are also signaling interest, hoping for the jobs, tourism traffic, and economic boost such a destination store could bring.
• ISA Responds to EPA Refinery Waivers and RIN Reallocation (morningagclips.com) — From its Ankeny headquarters, the Iowa Soybean Association is backing an EPA proposal to fully reallocate biofuel credits lost to new refinery waivers, saying anything less would hurt farmers' bottom lines. Leaders urge swift action on the rule and call on the U.S. Senate to pass a farm bill with E15 protections to stabilize markets vital to Iowa growers.
