Traffic will be detoured via 570th Street and Lansing Road during construction, and comments are being accepted through Aug. 12. Body of missing Atlantic man located (mtayrnews.com) ā An Atlantic man who had been reported missing while working in Mount Ayr was found deceased in a field near the municipal airport after a multi-agency search. Authorities say no foul play is suspected and believe a medical emergency related to recent heat may be involved, with autopsy results still pending. Officials emphasize there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Cass County Sheriff's Office Reports Nine Arrests (westerniowatoday.com) ā Cass County Sheriffās Office reports several recent arrests, including multiple Atlantic residents facing charges such as OWI and probation violations. All individuals were booked into the Cass County Jail and later released on bond or recognizance, and all charges remain accusations with defendants presumed innocent under the law.

Cash Grain July 30, 2026 (westerniowatoday.com) ā Local farmers can check July 30 cash grain bids for Atlantic, with Landus Coop and Elite Octane both listing current corn prices alongside other area elevators. These numbers give Atlantic producers a quick snapshot of what nearby buyers are paying today for corn and soybeans.
