The utility also set new connection fees and continues lead line replacements, coordinating with the city’s Adams Street streetscape project to save money and minimize future disruption for residents and businesses. 
• Vandals strike Rainbow Park restrooms (crestonnews.com) — Severe vandalism at Creston’s Rainbow Park restrooms has caused more than $10,000 in damage, straining the parks budget just weeks before the May 1 opening target. Parks staff are weighing surveillance options while also finalizing McKinley Pool prices, punch cards, and party rates for the 2026 season.
• KMAland Girls Track & Field (4/16): F-M wins Terry Ratliff Relays, Glenwood, Treynor, Wayne, Syracuse other winners (kmaland.com) — Creston’s girls track team scored 64.66 points at the Glenwood Relays, highlighted by Cora Smith’s win in the 400 meters. Across KMAland, several southwest Iowa schools claimed team titles and standout performances Thursday, including Fremont-Mills, Treynor, Glenwood, Wayne, Madrid, and Syracuse.
