Patrick Sweany, September 25 (rcreader.com) — A nationally recognized blues-rock artist, Patrick Sweany, is headlining at Davenport's Raccoon Motel on Friday, September 25, with doors at 7 p.m. Tickets are $19.84 and include an additional set by Spencer Thomas, giving local music fans a chance to catch Sweany's new album material live just a short walk or drive from home.
   

2. CornCon 12: 'The 12 Chaos Monkeys of Cyber,' October 2 and 3 (rcreader.com) — A major cybersecurity and STEM conference is coming to Davenport's RiverCenter on October 2–3, with public sessions, expert talks, and a big kids' "Children of the CornCon" hacker camp and STEM festival. Local families can explore hands-on tech activities, contests, and a rooftop after-party at The Last Picture House, while professionals dive into AI, cyber defense, and workforce training topics.
   

3. Infiltrator Water Technologies plans new Davenport facility (ourquadcities.com) — A new Infiltrator Water Technologies plant is planned for South Stark Street in Davenport, with a $7.4 million investment and up to 26 new full-time jobs. City council is set to vote on supporting state incentives, which could help finalize the project and redevelop an 84,000-square-foot West End building by early 2027.
   

4. United Way Quad Cities' in-school program part of national case study (ourquadcities.com) — A United Way Quad Cities program that began at Davenport's Madison Elementary is now part of a national case study for improving student success. Site coordinators placed in high-need schools are helping nearly 2,700 students with attendance, behavior, reading, and basic needs like food, vision, and dental care, offering a model other communities may follow.
   

5. Student Hunger Drive returns with Million Meals Match for second year (kwqc.com) — Davenport students are gearing up for the 2026 Student Hunger Drive, again paired with the Million Meals Match to boost donations for River Bend Food Bank. Local schools, businesses, and neighbors will work together starting September 21 to help provide meals, building on more than 21 million meals already supplied to families facing hunger.
