• Search for boater who fell into Des Moines River paused until Sunday (who13.com) — Emergency crews from Des Moines and surrounding departments paused their search Saturday night for a boater who fell into the Des Moines River near NW Morningside Drive and NW 45th Place, with efforts set to resume Sunday in daylight. Authorities used drones and water teams but have not yet located the person, and they have not released the boater's identity.
   

• ARL of Iowa updates on emaciated puppy Blossom's recovery (who13.com) — In Des Moines, the ARL of Iowa says Blossom, the emaciated puppy found in a Polk County ditch, is now walking on her own and has doubled her weight. Staff report she's still rebuilding muscle but is bright, social, and continuing months of rehabilitation after arriving in critical condition earlier this month.
   

• Skydiver in critical condition after crashing in Knoxville field (who13.com) — A skydiver critically injured in a crash near Knoxville was airlifted to a Des Moines trauma center Saturday, where they remain in critical condition. Local fire, EMS, and law enforcement searched heavy timber and cornfields before rescuers reached the victim and transferred them to a waiting Mercy AirMed helicopter for emergency transport.
