Recovery nonprofit opens new Des Moines center after rapid growth (desmoinesregister.com subscription) — Full Circle Recovery has opened a new standalone Recovery Community Center on Douglas Avenue in Des Moines, bringing multiple peer-led addiction support programs under one roof. The nonprofit, which has already served tens of thousands statewide, now offers local residents expanded recovery events, coaching, and post-overdose support in a more accessible, dedicated space.

Local students watched the final stretch at the Capitol, connecting classroom lessons about Sept. 11 with a living tribute happening in their own community.

ARL of Iowa rescues 141 animals across three massive operations (who13.com) — The Animal Rescue League of Iowa in Des Moines is caring for 141 animals after three major rescue operations across the state in about a week. With dogs, horses, and dozens of sick cats now filling its care, the shelter is asking central Iowa residents for support to help these animals recover and keep future rescues possible.
