• Marion man accused of using glass bottle as a weapon during Iowa City mobile home brawl (1630kcjj.com) — An alleged late-night fight at the Lake Ridge manufactured housing community in Iowa City left one person injured after deputies say a Marion man hit another person with a glass bottle. Johnson County deputies reviewed video, identified the alleged primary aggressor, and filed assault, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication charges that could mean more than a year in jail if convicted.

• Iowa's first Kid Captain: 6-year-old Harlow fights rare disease (kwwl.com) — A 6-year-old Illinois girl who travels weekly to Iowa City for treatment at Stead Family Children's Hospital is being honored as the first Kid Captain of the Hawkeye football season. Her rare genetic condition requires frequent infusions, but the Kid Captain program and visits from facility dog Nacho help make her long days at the hospital more special.
