UI students show up for social media sensation Sister Cindy (dailyiowan.com) — Hundreds of University of Iowa students packed the Pentacrest on Sept. 24 to see viral evangelical street preacher "Sister Cindy" deliver her provocative "Ho No Mo Revolution" message. Many Iowa City students came more for the spectacle and heckling than agreement, but still appreciated her commitment and the rare, meme-fueled energy she brought to a regular day on campus.
   

2. Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County hold vigil for Sudanese boy who died during Borlaug Elementary field trip (1630kcjj.com) — Iowa City neighbors and officials gathered at Pheasant Ridge Neighborhood Center to honor fifth-grader Ahmed Osman after his fatal accident on a School of the Wild field trip. About 200 residents, many from the Sudanese community, shared memories as his family, school leaders, and city officials, including the mayor, joined in a show of support and solidarity.
   

3. Hope House resident charged with burglary (1630kcjj.com) — A resident of Hope House is accused of breaking into an Iowa City apartment and stealing an $850 watch, which investigators say they later found in his room. Video from the victim and surveillance footage reportedly link the suspect to the burglary, a Class C felony that could carry up to ten years in prison if he's convicted.
   

4. Burlington man accused of fighting Iowa City Police (1630kcjj.com) — An early-morning disturbance near Iowa Avenue and Dubuque Street led to the arrest of two Burlington men after Iowa City police broke up multiple fights. One man is accused of shoving an officer and interfering with an arrest, while both face disorderly conduct and public intoxication charges that could bring jail time if they're convicted.
   

5. Gov. Reynolds orders flags at half-staff in honor of Borlaug Elementary School teacher, student (weareiowa.com) — Flags across Iowa are being lowered to half-staff to honor Borlaug Elementary teacher Hannah Jorgensen and student Ahmed Osman, whose deaths during a School of the Wild field trip deeply affected the Iowa City School District. The governor's order and condolences underscore how the Coralville Reservoir tragedy is resonating throughout the local school community and the state.
