City Wide Clean-up is next week (mississippivalleypublishing.com) ā Keokuk residents can use free vouchers April 18ā25 to dump household junk at the Great River Regional Waste transfer station off Carbide Lane, including furniture, mattresses, and yard waste. Pick up vouchers at Keokuk City Hall, note restricted items like appliances, paint, and electronics, and be sure to arrive during the transfer stationās limited weekday and Saturday hours.

Thursday, April 16th, 2026 (pencitycurrent.com) ā Keokuk residents are named in several recent police and sheriffās reports, including arrests on probation violation, criminal mischief, trespassing, disorderly conduct, and harassment charges, plus a marijuana citation. All incidents occurred April 15ā16, and everyone mentioned is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Massud Kayvan (mississippivalleypublishing.com) ā Keokuk readers are remembering Massud Kayvan, who studied at Southeastern Community College in Keokuk and briefly worked at Hubingers before a long career in Fort Madison. The Hamilton, Illinois resident, originally from Tehran, Iran, was an avid sports fan, youth soccer coach, and familiar face biking around Hamilton. Visitation is Saturday afternoon at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton.

AAUW event to focus on mental health (mississippivalleypublishing.com) ā Keokukās AAUW chapter is hosting a free mental health program on April 27 at 6 p.m. at the Keokuk Round Room Galleries, 210 N 5th St. Psychiatric nurse practitioner Annie Phillips will explain hidden anxiety in high-functioning women over 60, why symptoms can intensify later in life, and when to seek helpāthough all ages and genders are welcome.

Mary Elizabeth Peevler Neff (thebradentontimes.com) ā Keokuk readers are invited to remember Mary Elizabeth Peevler Neff, who was born in Keokuk and cherished her Mississippi River hometown throughout her life. The longtime educator, community activist, and devoted family matriarch will be honored at celebrations in Keokuk and other cities later this year.
