Vernon & Lisbon (mvlsun.com) — Mount Vernon and Lisbon residents lined local bridges and crossings to watch Union Pacific’s restored “Big Boy” steam locomotive roar through town during its cross-country tour for America’s 250th anniversary. Crowds tracked its approach online, swapped railfan stories, and captured photos and drone footage as the rare engine briefly passed before continuing east toward Illinois.
