• Pella Regional Health Center and Knoxville Hospital & Clinics Recognize Ulrich Ford Lincoln for $50,000 Contribution to the Bridging the Gap Campaign (kniakrls.com) — Pella Regional Health Center is partnering with Knoxville Hospital & Clinics to build a new South Central Iowa Radiation Center, and Ulrich Ford Lincoln has kicked in a $50,000 gift toward the Bridging the Gap campaign. The $14.3 million facility, slated for completion in early 2027, aims to bring state-of-the-art radiation therapy closer to patients in Marion County and nearby communities.

• Pella Christian Baseball Falls to Indianola, Softball Rained Out Mid-Game (kniakrls.com) — Pella Christian’s baseball and softball teams had a storm-disrupted night in Indianola, with baseball dropping a 7-3 decision and softball leading 7-3 when lightning halted play. The second baseball game is reset for June 29, while softball’s resumption is TBD, and the Eagles baseball team hosts West Marshall tonight with radio coverage on 92.1 KRLS.

• Former Vermeer CEO Bob Vermeer Dies at 78 (farm-equipment.com) — Pella is mourning former Vermeer CEO Bob Vermeer, a lifelong area resident who helped grow the family company into a global manufacturer while serving on numerous local boards and church ministries. Raised near Pella and educated at Pella Christian and Central College, he and his wife Lois raised their family in town and supported many community, faith, and philanthropic efforts across Iowa and beyond.
