• Rock Valley, IA man arrested following alleged domestic assault involving knife, child (ktiv.com) — Rock Valley police recently arrested a local man after an alleged domestic confrontation at a Rock Valley residence that reportedly involved a knife and a nearby six-year-old child. Court records say he also drove there despite a barred and suspended license and is now being held in Sioux County Jail on bond while the case moves forward.
   

• Carmel Church adds area for cremations (nwestiowa.com) — Carmel Reformed Church’s cemetery in rural Rock Valley has opened a new, landscaped section dedicated to smaller lots for cremated remains, aiming to keep costs low and use land efficiently. Church leaders say the area, near a gazebo and magnolia trees, is already drawing interest from families and could be expanded north if it fills faster than expected.
