• Fatal Charles City House Fire Cause 'Undetermined' – 95.1 The Bull (951thebull.com) — Rockford firefighters were among several area departments called to help battle a deadly March 6 house fire in Charles City that claimed the life of 78-year-old homeowner Ray Vandeventer Jr. Investigators have ruled the cause of the blaze “undetermined” due to the building’s collapse and lack of eyewitnesses, while a GoFundMe is nearing its goal to support the family’s expenses.
