• Iowa Homes for Heroes Completes Second Home for Iowa Veteran (dmcityview.com) — A new home for disabled veteran Johnny Mellor has just been completed in Urbandale's Oakwood Haven development, with a public ribbon-cutting set for Thursday, October 8. Built through the Iowa Homes for Heroes program with local and state partners, it's the nonprofit's second donated home and its second in Urbandale, with more veteran- and first responder-focused projects planned across Iowa.
