• Washington Police and Fire Departments Complete Mental Health Awareness and Resiliency Training (kciiradio.com) — Washington’s police, fire, EMS, deputies, and dispatchers have completed a six-hour mental health awareness and resiliency training funded by a $9,000 grant. The program adds annual one-on-one check-ins, peer support, and critical incident stress debriefings to help local first responders manage trauma and reduce stigma around seeking help.
   

• Keota Volunteer Fire Department Receives Over $5,000 in Riverboat Foundation Grant Funding (kciiradio.com) — A Washington County Riverboat Foundation grant of $5,370 will help Keota’s volunteer firefighters buy new helmets to stay compliant with safety codes. The all-volunteer department will purchase 25 helmets total and then turn its attention to upgrading its tankers, while WCRF continues funding projects across Washington County and nearby communities.
