• Archdiocese of Dubuque releases final Journey in Faith pastorate plan (pdccourier.com) — Catholic parishioners in West Union will see Holy Name Parish limited to one English weekend Mass under the Archdiocese of Dubuque’s new Journey in Faith pastorate plan. Several nearby parishes lose weekend Masses entirely as priests are reassigned across a larger regional pastorate. Leaders say the changes respond to priest shortages and shifting demographics. 
• Cops chase motorcyclist at high speed through two Northern Iowa counties (northiowatoday.com) — A high-speed motorcycle chase began near South Industrial Parkway in West Union on Monday evening, reaching nearly 18 miles before ending safely in Calmar. A 22-year-old Decorah man was arrested and faces a felony eluding charge plus several traffic-related misdemeanors. Fayette and Winneshiek County deputies, Iowa State Patrol, and West Union Police all assisted.
