📰 News we're reading
• City Commission approves use of UTVs on city roads (ransonfinancial.com) — Eudora residents will soon be able to legally drive UTVs and micro trucks on most city streets, starting June 1, if they live in the 66025 ZIP code and register with the Police Department. The new ordinance sets equipment, insurance, and licensing requirements, limits use to roads 45 mph or under, and bans driving along state or federal highways, though crossings are allowed.

• Douglas County commissioners approved funding towards 22 local heritage conservation projects (ljworld.com) — Douglas County has approved funding for 22 heritage projects and reviewed major planning and health initiatives, and some of that work will touch Eudora residents. Public health officials plan to expand WIC outreach in smaller communities like Eudora and are exploring a universal home visiting program starting in mid-2026, alongside broader efforts in mental health, land use, and environmental management.
