Now meteorologists and federal officials are debating whether staffing cuts and reduced weather balloon launches at the National Weather Service may be weakening severe weather forecasts for our area.

Wayside Waifs scavenger hunt teaches kids animal care (kmbc.com) ā Families in Kansas City can join a new monthly scavenger hunt at Wayside Waifs that teaches kids how to read animal behavior and care for pets. The free, hour-and-a-half program includes a shelter tour and guided activities where children identify specific animals and behaviors, helping them better understand their petsā emotions and strengthen family connections with animals.
