Daily News- June 10, 2026 (rileycountypolice.org) — Riley County Police report that a 47-year-old Manhattan resident was arrested June 9 on a warrant for criminal damage to property and theft, with bond set at $5,000. The department also summarizes recent calls, reports, and arrests, and reminds Manhattan residents they can anonymously share crime tips through Crime Stoppers for potential cash rewards.

2. Pawnee funding increase takes hit in initial Riley County budget discussion (themercury.com) — Riley County commissioners signaled they may grant Pawnee Mental Health a much smaller 2027 funding increase than requested, trimming the proposed boost by about $200,000 in early budget talks. The Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce’s requested 82% funding hike also drew scrutiny and could be cut, with commissioners balancing outside-agency appropriations against a 1.5-mill cap.

3. Kansas State basketball learns Big 12 matchups for 2026-27 schedule (hutchnews.com) — Kansas State men’s basketball fans in Manhattan can now see who’s coming to Bramlage Coliseum in 2026-27, with home-and-home games against Kansas, Cincinnati, and Arizona State. The Big 12 matrix also sends the Wildcats to Baylor only, plus five other league road-only opponents, in Casey Alexander’s first season leading a largely rebuilt roster.

4. Policy Updates, Grants Highlight Tuesday's USD 407 BOE Meeting (krsl.com) — A Manhattan-based company, Kansas NuDrain, won a $65,200 contract to fix persistent plumbing issues at Bickerdyke Elementary in Russell County. The USD 407 board also advanced new cellphone and social media policies, secured grants for a cleaner bus and after-school programming, and scheduled a June 27 retreat to set goals for 2026-27.
