• 18 Kansas Communities Receive $13.7M for Airport and Energy Grid Improvements (kclyradio.com) — Ottawa is set to receive $585,000 in federal funds plus Build Kansas support to construct a new airport taxiway, part of a statewide $13.7 million infrastructure package. The project aims to improve local airport operations and long‑term transportation reliability. Seventeen other Kansas communities will also upgrade airports and strengthen electric grids using this round of funding.
   

• Jeremy Gathright Named Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach (ottawabraves.com) — Ottawa University has hired Jeremy Gathright as the new head coach for the Braves cross country and track & field programs, with duties starting immediately. Gathright brings extensive collegiate coaching experience from Kansas Wesleyan and Laney College, plus a standout NAIA athletic career. He says he’s eager to mentor student‑athletes and make a positive impact on campus and in the Ottawa community.
