• Obama to visit Overland Park for private event, but won't campaign in Kansas races (kansascity.com) — Former President Barack Obama will be in Overland Park on Saturday to speak at Creative Planning's private CONNECT26 conference at the Overland Park Convention Center, an event closed to the public. Despite the timing amid competitive Kansas races, his visit will not include campaign events with Senate candidate Adam Hamilton or gubernatorial candidate Cindy Holscher. The conference also features former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
   

• 2027 VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo Sets Location and Dates for March (fenderbender.com) — A major automotive training event, the 2027 VISION Hi-Tech Training & Expo, is set for March 4–7, 2027 at the Overland Park Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel in Overland Park. Organized by the Midwest Auto Care Alliance, it will bring technicians, managers, and educators together for intensive classes, an expo, awards, and networking. The "No Excuses. Just Train." theme encourages shops to prioritize ongoing education despite busy schedules.
   

• PGA Superstore brings together high school teams for practice, community building (fox4kc.com) — High school golfers from Blue Valley, Pembroke Hill, St. Thomas Aquinas and other schools are flocking to the PGA Superstore in Overland Park, where simulator bays double as an indoor practice hub. Coaches say the space lets entire teams train together, track performance, and even squeeze in homework while escaping extreme weather. Players also credit the setup with building friendships and a stronger girls golf community across rival schools.
