She’s disputing the charges, seeking reimbursement for overdraft fees, and hoping lawmakers address similar problems for other small businesses.

Dragon softball grabs six all-league selections (morningsun.net) — Pittsburg High’s Purple Dragons softball team just landed six all-league selections and saw coach Chanc Gomez named Coach of the Year after another state-tournament season. The Dragons went 22-5, shared the SEK League title with Fort Scott, and placed three players on the first team and three on the second team in all-league voting.

Fatal crash on Highway 69 claims life of Baxter Springs woman (koamnewsnow.com) — A head-on crash on Highway 69 sent two drivers to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, where a 73-year-old Baxter Springs woman later died from her injuries. Cherokee County deputies say a northbound truck lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic, and the crash remains under investigation.

State agencies and Private Businesses Unite Services for World Elder Abuse Awareness Month (sentineltimes.com) — Kansas agencies and banks are teaming up on a June education tour that will include a stop in Pittsburg to help seniors guard against financial fraud and abuse.
