• Rohleder Wins Russell County Free Fair Poster Contest (krsl.com) — Russell County residents can celebrate local creativity as Virginia Rohleder’s “Fair Time” poster was chosen to grace this year’s Russell County Free Fair book. All contest entries will be showcased this Sunday at the Deines Cultural Center in Russell, ahead of the July 21–24 fair at the Russell fairgrounds. 
• Class VI Carbon Storage Well Approved in Kansas (thedriller.com) — A first-of-its-kind federal permit will allow PureField Carbon Capture to inject carbon dioxide underground near Russell, tying the project to a local ethanol facility. Over 12 years, the well could store up to 1.8 million metric tons of CO₂, bringing investment, oversight, and long-term environmental monitoring attention to the Russell area.
• Community Billboard Grant Program Winners Announced (krsl.com) — Local businesses in Russell are getting new visibility along I-70, with the Dream Theater and Russell Specialty Books and Gifts chosen for billboard grant support. Two Russell residents also won the new Community Billboard Competition, helping shape how Russell County is showcased to travelers for the next two years.
