Salina students take top honors at regional civics bee (salina.com) — Salina middle schoolers swept the top three spots at the regional National Civics Bee held at K-State Salina, with students from Salina South and Lakewood leading the way. Local judges, including the Salina city manager, evaluated their ideas for community improvement, and the finalists now advance to the state competition for a shot at cash prizes and a trip to Washington, D.C.
3. 🥎 KWU bounces back in second game to earn split with Saint Mary (salinapost.com) — Kansas Wesleyan softball split Thursday’s doubleheader at Salina South High School, dropping the opener to Saint Mary 7–4 before bouncing back with an 8–2 win. Local fans saw big bats from Kendell Wilcox and Keira Hammen and a strong complete-game outing from freshman pitcher Addie Herrera, who allowed just two runs on five hits.
