• Dad Arrested After His 2 Toddlers Left Home and Wandered Along Busy Road (fresnobee.com) — Two very young children were found wandering alone along a busy road in Barbourville, leading to child endangerment charges against their father, according to Knox County authorities. Deputies say the toddlers slipped out of a home with a broken door lock while their father slept and their mother was at work. The children were checked by medics and released to a family member.
   

• Teen Killed Alongside Friend Was Trying to Break Up with Boyfriend When He Shot Them in Apparent Murder-Suicide (people.com) — A tragic murder-suicide that began after three people left a Barbourville residence has left two young women and a man dead, according to Kentucky authorities. Investigators say a 21-year-old man fatally shot his girlfriend and her friend in a vehicle after a police pursuit, then killed himself. Families are now raising funeral funds and officials are highlighting domestic violence and mental health resources.
