HIVE gets grant to expand Allen operations (bgdailynews.com) — A Bowling Green-based nonprofit, The HIVE, just secured a two-year, $150,000 grant to grow its Allen County clubhouse modeled after its established Bowling Green program. The funding will add staff and double open days in Scottsville, expanding volunteer, independent living, and enrichment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities across the region.
   

3. A lifetime close to death taught Kevin Kirby how to live (bgdailynews.com) — Longtime Bowling Green funeral director and Warren County coroner Kevin Kirby reflects on decades of serving grieving families, from classmates he met at Bowling Green High to neighbors he quietly helps in emergencies. His story weaves together faith, community service, charity car shows, and a 50-year marriage, offering a deeply personal look at how constant proximity to death has shaped his outlook on life.
   

4. Rev. James Jones Jr., 92, of Hopkinsville (wkdzradio.com) — Bowling Green native Rev. James Henry Jones Jr., a longtime United Methodist minister and former missionary to Bolivia, has died at 92. Family and friends will celebrate his life at a service in Trenton on Sept. 6, with burial to follow later in Edgewood Cemetery.
