• Kentucky blue-painted eastern box turtle rescued in backyard (news-usa.today) — A Campbellsville homeowner discovered an eastern box turtle in her new backyard whose shell had been repeatedly painted bright blue and red, putting the animal at risk. Wildlife experts at Wilderness Trail Wildlife Center are painstakingly removing the paint before returning the turtle to the exact Campbellsville spot she was found, while urging residents never to paint or chemically treat wild animals.
   

• Howard Dobson Sr. (myq104.com) — Campbellsville is mourning 93‑year‑old Howard Dobson Sr., a longtime small‑business owner and former city firefighter who founded Dobson’s Camper in 1968. Visitation is Friday evening, October 2, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, with his funeral there Saturday morning and burial at Brookside Cemetery, as the community honors his decades of service and family ties.
   

• Joshua Lee Stearman (myq104.com) — Campbellsville‑born Joshua Lee Stearman, 31, who later lived in Greensburg and enjoyed gaming, dirt‑track racing, and wrestling, has died, leaving two young children and a large extended family. Funeral services are set for Friday, October 2, at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg, with burial at Maple Hill Cemetery and an option to support the family’s burial fund.
