📰 News we're reading

• Danville nurse receives top patient care recognition (amnews.com) — A Danville-based Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center nurse, Chastity Sharp of Boyle County, has received the DAISY Award for her exceptional labor and delivery care. A grateful patient praised her calm explanations, attentiveness, and encouragement, and the health system is inviting more nominations to honor other outstanding nurses across its facilities.

• City Struggles With Harrodsburg's Aging Infrastucture (harrodsburgherald.com) — Harrodsburg’s aging water system has twice forced major conservation requests, most recently after a May 29 break in the raw water line from the Kentucky River. Danville’s city utility helped supply water and pipes for emergency repairs, underscoring how closely local systems are tied. Harrodsburg officials are now eyeing a state-backed loan to replace the 1950s-era line that serves much of Mercer County.
