• Danville names baseball field for Morse - The Advocate-Messenger (amnews.com) — Danville High School has officially renamed its baseball field Paul G. Morse Field, honoring the longtime Admirals star player and championship-winning coach. Former coach Paul Morse, his family, and past administrators gathered Wednesday before Danville’s game against Boyle County to celebrate his decades of records, titles, and mentorship. The dedication recognizes his deep ties to the school and community.
   

• Boyle County officials warn of late-night phone scam - The Advocate-Messenger (amnews.com) — Danville and Boyle County officials are alerting residents to a late-night phone scam where callers pose as detention center staff to seek personal information or money. A recent 12:45 a.m. call falsely claimed overcrowding at the Boyle County Detention Center and offered to change NCIC records. Authorities stress jail staff will never request payments or sensitive data by phone and urge residents to hang up and verify directly.
