• TenKey acquires land near proposed data center campus (franklinfavorite.com) — A data center developer, TenKey LandCo, has quietly added more than 100 acres near Steele Road and now controls about 450 acres by Franklin’s edge, raising big questions about annexation and zoning. With preliminary plans already approved by Franklin Planning & Zoning, county leaders are debating how to keep a say over future industrial projects and protect rural land if deals fall through.
   

• Kroger development advances, commission approves economic development funds (franklinfavorite.com) — Franklin’s city commission has advanced a $3.44 million incentive for Kroger’s new distribution center on Steele Road, expected to add hundreds of jobs, while also backing another manufacturer bringing nearly 300 positions to Simpson County. Commissioners approved street closures for local events, funding for parks, arts, housing, and nonprofits, and accepted two city staff resignations.
   

• Lindsey Wilson University community begins to welcome Class of 2030 - Adair County Community Voice (adairvoice.com) — A Franklin-Simpson High School graduate, Aniah Anderson of Franklin, is joining Lindsey Wilson University’s Class of 2030 as a theatre major and says campus already feels welcoming. She and other new students attended early June orientation sessions that introduced them to college life, support services, and ways to get involved beyond their dorm rooms.
