• EKY school offers free summer meals to all children 18 and under (wymt.com) — Families in Hazard can get free breakfast and lunch for all children 18 and under this summer through Hazard Independent Schools, with on-site meals at Roy G. Eversole and limited home delivery. Staff say they’re already serving nearly 200 meals a day, helping families stretch tight grocery budgets while keeping kids fed with healthy options.
   

• Lady Bulldogs fall to Bullitt East, 16-8 (news-expressky.com) — Hazard’s Lady Bulldogs softball team saw their strong season end in Lexington, falling 16-8 to Bullitt East in the KHSAA state quarterfinals after briefly taking an 8-7 lead. The squad still finishes with an impressive 24-13 record and a 14th Region championship, giving Hazard fans plenty to be proud of.
   

• Kentucky hospitals among list of facilities Trump is warning, seeking price information (wkyt.com) — Hazard ARH Regional Medical Center is among eight Kentucky hospitals warned by the federal government to improve price transparency or face fines up to $2 million a year. The list, obtained by the Associated Press, includes facilities that must submit plans or face escalating penalties, meaning local patients could soon see clearer hospital pricing information.
