Beshear plans statewide upgrades (christiancountynow.com) — Christian County’s 911 center in Hopkinsville is already using many features of Kentucky’s planned Next Generation 911 system, including text and video capabilities to better assist callers. With full statewide implementation expected by 2027, local officials say these tools, plus a new backup E911 center at Fire Station 5, will improve response times and resilience during emergencies.

2. Man headbutts security guard, assaults deputy at Hopkinsville hospital (christiancountynow.com) — A disturbance at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville Wednesday led staff to block off an entire floor after a jailed suspect allegedly injured himself, then reportedly kicked a deputy and headbutted a security officer. The man, originally arrested on Terry Lane, now faces multiple charges including trespassing, assault of a police officer, assault of a healthcare provider, and disorderly conduct.

3. Quarles Brings KCTCS Message To Hopkinsville Community College (ground.news) — Kentucky Community and Technical College System President Ryan Quarles visited Hopkinsville Community College this week ahead of a Board of Regents meeting, using a campus luncheon to highlight workforce training and educational opportunities. His remarks emphasized how KCTCS programs can help local high schoolers, working parents, mid-career adults and others in Hopkinsville gain skills for better jobs.

Country musician Chris Janson will headline Summer Salute in Hopkinsville (hoptownchronicle.org) — Downtown Hopkinsville’s Summer Salute festival will bring free outdoor concerts, food trucks, and family activities Sept. 11-12, with country star Chris Janson headlining and Harper Grace opening. The weekend also features tribute band Hollywood Swinging and The 77 Experience, continuing a tradition that replaced Little River Days and now anchors the city’s late-summer celebration.
