1. Lawsuit claims Fayette County Schools blamed paraeducators after student escaped (fox56news.com) — A new lawsuit claims Fayette County Public Schools blamed three paraeducators after a 7‑year‑old Lexington student with autism left Meadowthorpe Elementary and was later rescued near New Circle Road. The former staffers say they warned administrators about staffing and safety issues, allege the district lacked an elopement policy at the time, and are seeking damages and possible reinstatement.

2. Lexington's Rupp Arena cuts budget after drop in concerts, live events (kentucky.com) — Rupp Arena and the Central Bank Center in downtown Lexington are trimming $1 million from their operating budget after a slowdown in concerts and live events cut expected revenue by about $1.9 million. Officials say day‑to‑day arena operations won't be affected, but year‑end funds are projected to drop 11%, even as convention and Opera House business remains strong.

3. Legacy patio at UK campus ministry building welcoming sight • Biblical Recorder (brnow.org) — Students at the University of Kentucky now have a new hangout spot in Lexington, thanks to a donor-funded legacy patio and pergola at the Baptist Campus Ministry building. The outdoor space, built largely with volunteer labor, is already drawing hundreds of students and is meant to foster community, casual conversations, and faith-based connections right along sorority row.

4. Louisville residents back KRC model data center ordinance (spectrumnews1.com) — Lexington officials are weighing new land-use rules for hyperscale data centers, alongside Louisville, and have been given a detailed model ordinance from the Kentucky Resources Council to consider. The proposal emphasizes regulating data centers by their impacts, like noise, pollution, and water use, and could shape how future projects near homes and schools are reviewed across Kentucky.
