Healing begins for Lexington community shaken by mass shooting (fox56news.com) — After Saturday's deadly shooting at Charles Young Park, Lexington residents gathered Monday for two healing sessions led by ONE Lexington and local mental health professionals. The events connected directly affected families and youth with counselors, therapy dogs, and ongoing support, while leaders stressed that the city's recent progress on reducing homicides still matters and that neighbors must keep leaning on each other.
3. Lexington community leaders launch mental health hub after shooting (wkyt.com) — In response to a recent mass shooting that ended a 190-day stretch without homicides, Lexington organizers turned the Dunbar Community Center into a one-day mental health hub. One Lexington and more than 30 providers offered free counseling and support, especially for Black residents and young people, while urging the community to stay engaged and seek ongoing help.
