With Cleo Fields opting not to run again, locals worry how effectively their neighborhood's needs and history will be voiced in Washington going forward.

Baton Rouge man arrested, accused of rape, robbery at City Hall (wafb.com) — A Baton Rouge man has been arrested on charges of second-degree rape and simple robbery after an alleged assault inside a bathroom at Baton Rouge City Hall last month. Police say DNA evidence, surveillance footage, a traced phone call, and a photo lineup led investigators to the 67-year-old suspect, who is being held at East Baton Rouge Parish Prison without bond set yet.
   

3. Southern University receives over $1 million to establish Louisiana rural business center (wbrz.com) — Southern University in Baton Rouge has secured a $1.275 million, three-year agreement to launch the Louisiana Innovation for Thriving Rural Business Center. Based in the College of Business, the new center will help rural entrepreneurs statewide with assessments, consulting, financing preparation, and government contracting support, aiming to serve 500 clients and help create 600 jobs.
