• Carencro named fastest-growing city in Louisiana (louisianaradionetwork.com) — Carencro has been named Louisiana’s fastest-growing city, with census data showing the population jumping nearly 42% between 2020 and 2025 to more than 13,000 residents. Mayor Charlotte Clavier credits affordable housing, easier insurance costs than coastal areas, and strong community involvement, noting hundreds of new home lots under active development and quick access to Lafayette via I-49.
   

• Lafayette Man Killed In Three-Vehicle Crash On W. Gloria Switch Road In Carencro (kpel965.com) — A fatal three-vehicle crash on W. Gloria Switch Road in Carencro Tuesday morning claimed the life of 22-year-old Lafayette resident Marcus Patterson, who later died at a local hospital. Carencro Police say his westbound vehicle crossed the center line, striking a truck with a trailer and then another car head-on, injuring the second driver and closing the roadway for several hours while investigators worked the scene.
