• Eva 'Vivian' Vivian LaRocca (americanpress.com) — Carlyss readers may recognize the Kershaw family name, as Eva “Vivian” LaRocca’s brother, Charles “Shorty” Kershaw, lives in Carlyss and is among her surviving relatives. Vivian, 88, passed away peacefully in Lake Charles on April 9, leaving a large extended family across Louisiana, Texas, and Tennessee. Services are set for this Friday evening and Saturday in Lake Charles.
